Privacy Policy for NotiKiller — published by VrumaLabs, developer of the Android app NotiKiller: Notification Rules (package: com.vrumalabs.notikiller).
Summary: NotiKiller accesses notification content to run your rules. That data is stored only on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your notification data. We do not sell user data. There are no ads, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers. Internet access is used only for Google Play Billing (optional Pro purchase and restore).

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application NotiKiller ("App") published on Google Play by:
- Developer / Data controller: VrumaLabs
- App name (Google Play): NotiKiller: Notification Rules
- Package name: com.vrumalabs.notikiller
- Website: https://www.vrumalabs.com
- Contact: hello@vrumalabs.com
For privacy-related questions, data rights requests, or complaints, email hello@vrumalabs.com. We aim to respond within 72 hours.
2. Scope & Your Agreement
This Privacy Policy describes how NotiKiller accesses, collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects user and device data. It is designed to meet Google Play Developer Program requirements and applicable privacy laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
By installing, accessing, or using NotiKiller, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App and uninstall it.
NotiKiller does not offer user account creation. There is no registration, login, or cloud profile.
3. Data We Access, Collect, and Store
The table below lists all categories of user or device data that NotiKiller accesses or collects. This disclosure is not limited to data declared in Google Play's Data safety section — it covers all data handling in the App and integrated SDKs.
3.1 Notification & message content (sensitive — stored on device)
NotiKiller requires Notification Access, a sensitive Android permission you grant manually in system Settings. With this permission, the App may access:
- Title and body text of notifications (which may include messages, OTPs, or other personal content)
- App name and package name of the notifying application
- Notification category, channel, and timestamp
- Whether a rule matched and what action was taken (dismissed, cooldown, snoozed, etc.)
Where stored: On your device only, in a local database (Room).
Transmitted to VrumaLabs servers: No.
Shared with third parties: No.
Purpose: Core app functionality — evaluating rules, showing history, and managing notifications as you configure.
3.2 App configuration & rule data (stored on device)
- Custom rules, conditions, and actions you create
- Template selections and cooldown settings
- App preferences (e.g. Pro unlock status flag, onboarding completion)
Where stored: On your device only (local database and DataStore).
Transmitted to VrumaLabs servers: No.
Purpose: App functionality.
3.3 Purchase & transaction data (via Google Play Billing SDK)
If you purchase NotiKiller Pro, Google Play Billing processes the payment. The App receives only a purchase token / entitlement status confirming whether Pro is unlocked. We do not receive your payment card number, billing address, or Google account password.
Third party: Google LLC (Google Play Billing SDK v7.1.1).
Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
3.4 Device & diagnostic data (on device only)
The App's Health screen checks local system status (notification access granted, battery optimization exempt, foreground service active, last heartbeat time). These checks run on your device and are not sent to our servers.
3.5 Data we do NOT access or collect
- Location / GPS data
- Contacts, phonebook, or call logs
- Photos, camera, or microphone recordings
- SMS messages (except text that appears inside notifications you receive)
- Inventory of installed apps (beyond identifying the app that sent a notification)
- Advertising ID (AAID), IMEI, or other device identifiers sent to VrumaLabs
- Email address, phone number, or name (unless it appears in a notification you receive)
- Analytics, crash reporting, or advertising data
- Health Connect or health sensor data
4. How We Use Data
We use accessed and collected data solely for:
- App functionality — running notification rules, templates, cooldowns, dismissals, alarms, and reminders
- History & search — displaying your local notification log
- Diagnostics — showing Health status so rules run reliably
- Pro entitlement — verifying your one-time Google Play purchase
- Service reliability — keeping the foreground service active across reboots
We do not use your data for:
- Advertising or marketing
- User profiling or sale to data brokers
- Research unrelated to operating the App
- Training AI or machine learning models
5. Background Data Access
NotiKiller operates a Notification Listener Service and foreground service that may process notifications while the App is in the background or after device reboot. This is essential for rule-based notification management and is disclosed during in-app onboarding before you grant Notification Access.
In-app disclosure:Before requesting Notification Access, NotiKiller's onboarding explains that the App reads notifications to apply your rules. Granting access requires your explicit action in Android Settings — we do not treat dismissal or back navigation as consent.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or sensitive user data.
Data is shared only in these limited circumstances:
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — when you initiate or restore a Pro purchase. Google processes payment data under its own privacy policy.
- Legal requirements — if required by applicable law, court order, or competent authority. Because notification data remains on your device and is not stored on VrumaLabs servers, we generally cannot produce it — you control deletion via the App or uninstall.
6.1 Third-party SDKs
NotiKiller integrates the following third-party code that may handle user data:
- Google Play Billing Library (com.android.billingclient:billing-ktx) — communicates with Google Play to verify in-app purchases. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs are included.
All other dependencies are standard Android/Jetpack libraries (Compose, Room, DataStore) that process data locally on your device without transmitting it to VrumaLabs or third-party analytics services.
7. Android Permissions
NotiKiller requests these Android permissions:
- Notification Access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) — Read and manage notifications. Granted by you in Android Settings.
- Internet — Google Play Billing only.
- com.android.vending.BILLING — In-app purchase for NotiKiller Pro.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Show foreground service and rule-related notifications.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — Reliable background rule execution.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Restart service after reboot.
- REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — Optional; prevents OS from stopping the service.
- VIBRATE — Custom vibration patterns for rules.
- USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT — Alarm-type rule alerts.
8. Data Security
We protect user data through:
- On-device storage — Notification and rule data is stored in the App's private sandbox; other apps cannot access it directly.
- No server transmission — Notification content is not sent to VrumaLabs servers.
- Encryption in transit — Communication with Google Play Billing uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Minimal permissions — We request only permissions required for notification management and billing.
- No third-party trackers — No advertising or analytics SDKs.
No security method is perfect. You should protect your device with a screen lock and keep Android updated. Notification content may include sensitive information — only grant Notification Access if you trust NotiKiller on your device.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
9.1 Retention
- Notification history & rules — Retained on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall NotiKiller.
- Pro purchase status — Retained locally and verified with Google Play; Google retains transaction records per its policies.
- Android backup — If you enable Android device backup, app data may be included in encrypted backups to your Google account. This is controlled by your device settings, not VrumaLabs.
9.2 How to delete your data
NotiKiller does not create user accounts. You can delete your data as follows:
- Delete notification history — Within the App (History tab)
- Delete rules — Within the App (Rules tab)
- Delete all App data — Uninstall NotiKiller from your device, or clear app data in Android Settings → Apps → NotiKiller → Storage → Clear data
- Revoke access — Disable Notification Access in Android Settings at any time
To request assistance with data deletion, email hello@vrumalabs.com with the subject line "NotiKiller Data Deletion Request". Because we do not store your notification data on our servers, deletion is performed by you on your device as described above.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your data — view history and rules in the App
- Correct your data — edit rules and settings in the App
- Delete your data — as described in Section 9
- Withdraw consent — revoke Notification Access or uninstall the App
- Object or restrict processing — stop using the App or disable specific rules
- Lodge a complaint — contact us or your local data protection authority
Under India's DPDP Act, 2023, you may contact our Grievance Officer at hello@vrumalabs.com.
11. Children's Privacy
NotiKiller is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used NotiKiller, uninstall the App and contact hello@vrumalabs.com.
12. International Users
VrumaLabs is based in India. Notification data processed by NotiKiller remains on your device and is not transferred to VrumaLabs servers. Google Play Billing may process purchase data globally per Google's infrastructure and privacy policy.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, Google Play requirements, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. For material changes, we may also provide notice through the App or Google Play listing. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Google Play Data Safety Alignment
The following summary aligns with how NotiKiller should be declared in Google Play Console → App content → Data safety. Your Play Console declarations must match this policy.
- Data collected: Messages (notification content), App activity (rule actions / history) — stored on device, not transmitted to developer servers
- Data shared: Purchase history / financial info — shared with Google Play only, for billing
- Collection optional: Notification Access is optional; the App cannot function without it, but you choose whether to grant it
- Encrypted in transit: Yes (Google Play Billing over HTTPS)
- Data deletion: Available — uninstall app or clear data; no account required
- Data sold: No
